Hogeschool Rotterdam is a dynamic educational institution committed to high-quality education and practice-oriented research, spread across multiple locations in Rotterdam. The Centre of Expertise HRTech at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences works with students, teachers, researchers, companies, and governments to technologically address major societal issues such as climate adaptation, energy transition, circularity, and digitization. This happens within sectors such as construction, maritime, logistics, water, process and manufacturing. They focus on practice-oriented research and innovation projects, where developed knowledge is widely shared and applied in the city and port of Rotterdam and in engineering education.

The Expertise Center for Social Innovation (EMI) of Hogeschool Rotterdam focuses on connecting students, teachers, and practice partners to work together on complex social issues in Rotterdam-South. This center plays an important role in the development and implementation of projects and programs aimed at social improvement and innovation in this region.

The Talent Development Knowledge Center of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences works on various projects aimed at promoting study success, inclusive education, and the career development of vulnerable groups, such as status holders. Projects such as "Student Voice," in which students develop courses for teachers on inclusive teaching, and "Flow-through routes vmbo-mbo-hbo," which explore alternative learning routes for talented students, illustrate the center's central role in innovating educational practices.
